Inside the book Shenandoah The Thomas Family Collection there are pictures dating back to the 50, 60 & 70’s but there are also a lot of recent photographs taken at local events around Shenandoah. During Shenandoah’s 2017 Memorial Day parade, there is a picture of riders from Mountaintop Ranch in Elkton, with Karla, Phoebe, Moly & Samantha Mills. At a community picnic at Big Gem Park in 2014, the Kite family was singing their favorite hymns, including Bill Kite, Madison Whitfield, Sue Kite, David Kite, Pauline Kite and Freddie Kite. In December 2014 the Shenandoah Elementary School Choir sang Christmas Carols on First Street. The choir was directed by Music Teacher Betsy Bechtel Hulvey. In 2014 it has pictures of the very first Christmas Truck that was put on display by The Shenandoah Beautification Committee. Also includes Eagle Scouts projects at Big Gem Park and scouts at many Flag Retirement Ceremonies.

The book also includes one chapter that takes one on a tour of the Shenandoah Elementary School, showing auditorium, gym, hallways, and classroom locations of former teachers such as Mr & Mrs. Vile, Mrs Shaffer, Mrs Staples, Mrs. Hockman & Mrs. Short. Among this collection of pictures is one taken of the retractable auditorium stage wall that enlarges the size of the stage.
