On Saturday June 14, the Page County High School Girls Softball team traveled to Radford University to take on King William High School for the state 2A Championship. The lady panthers (25-1) trailed the first six innings then scored five runs on five hits and an error in the seventh inning to stun King William (23-3) with a score of 5-2 and win the Group 2A State Softball Championship. Page senior Allison Breeden delivered the big blow, driving a three-run triple into left center with two outs to put the Panthers up 4-2.

Upon arriving back in Shenandoah, they received an escort thru town by Shenandoah Police and Fire Department, while fans gathered around the Shenandoah Elementary School to welcome home the State Champions.
