Have you ever seen this maker in the Fields United Methodist cemetery?

Irving Judd erected this memorial for his father, Benjamin Judd and his mother, Virginia Judd. The tongs are from the forge which preceded the Big Gem furnace. The sloping piece on the memorial is an anvil made out of iron. On top of the anvil is square bloom of solid iron. On the northeast corner of the Judd plot is a smaller anvil with blooms of decreasing size stacked on top of it. Not only is this a memorial to Judd’s parents, it’s a memorial to the industry that built the Town of Shenandoah.
