On Saturday October 31, 2020 our community welcomed home Jonathan Price from serving our county for the past four years with the United States Marines. He was escorted into town by Shenandoah Emergency services, the state police, the Elkton police department, and welcomed home by family and friends in Shenandoah. Jonathan granted us permission to share with you comments he posted on his Facebook page:
I didn’t cry when I woke up this morning. I didn’t cry when I picked up my DD-214. I didn’t cry when I left the Camp Lejeune gate for the last time. I didn’t cry on the whole way home. I cried when I was escorted and welcomed home by the town I lived my whole life until 4 years ago today.
Thank you to all the Shenandoah Emergency services, the state police, the Elkton police department, and all those who were there in Shenandoah. You all reminded me of the simple fact that I am loved and that is something I was starting to forget. I’m so thankful that I live here and this is the place I belong.
When I say that I am beyond grateful for all of your time and effort put into welcoming me back, I dearly and truly mean it. Thank you so, so much.
