The below notice was posted on Shenandoah Hardware's Facebook on September 29, 2014: It is with great sadness that we have to announce today that this week will be the last week that Shenandoah Hardware will be open. Due to medical issues and the economy, we are unable to continue the hands on, old time service we strived for over the years. A big THANK YOU to everyone that visited the store since 2008 we appreciate your loyalty. We do want to remind everyone... that shopping local means more than just the words of a slogan. Your shopping in your local stores keeps those stores open for your convenience. The little stores can’t stock inventory like the big box stores obviously, but all of your local businesses do their very best to meet your needs. That can only be done when you spend your hard-earned money locally. The money you spend goes right back into inventory and helps pay the bills plain and simple. In other words, we the small business community value your hard-earned money as much as you do we survive on it! So the next time you need to make a purchase, be it groceries, gas, gifts, flowers, or food check out what shops you have in your own neighborhood your local businesses will appreciate it more than you know!
