The 10th Annual & Final Lois Comer Memorial Back Road 5K Challenge will take place Saturday April 6, 2019 at 8:30am.
On September 13, 2009, our mother, Lois Jean Comer, lost a courageous battle
with cancer. In honor of our mother, the tenth and final running of the Lois
Jean Comer Back Road Challenge. All
proceeds from this race have gone to the Lois Jean Comer Memorial Scholarship
which to date has raised over $30,000 in scholarship money given to deserving
Page County High School seniors to help further their educations. We are
thankful to all who have participated through the years and hope to make this
final running of the event a special one! Thank you for all of your support and
fond memories of Mom and we hope to see you there!
Course Description: Race will start at 8:30 AM at the corner of Maryland Avenue
and 6th Street. Race will follow Mom's and our Grandmother Mildred Phillips'
walking route from 6th Street left onto Shenvadel Avenue right onto 7th street and
then a quick left onto Osceola Avenue. Then left on to 10th Street and right onto
the Back Road where the race will continue to a turnaround point on the Back
Road and then return back to the start/finish line at the corner of Maryland
Avenue and 6th Street. (PLEASE NOTE: There will be no water stops on the race
route!)
As always, pizza and free beverages will be provided at the finish line.
