Shenandoah’s Computer Center Supervisor Joyce Fluharty has authored a new book called Shenandoah Iron Works 1836-1866. A history of the Forrer Family and the beginning of the Town of Shenandoah including early population and the Forrer’s involvement during the Civil War. The contract with the Confederate States of America for pig iron, actual census records for 1850 & 1860 for Shenandoah Iron Works, newspaper articles about the election of 1860 and postal schedules for mail delivery and Civil War era maps for our area.
