All three of the towns welcome signs now have electric spot lights that illuminate them from dust to dawn. Recently, electric poles, lines and meters were installed beside each sign. They had been lit up by small solar powered lights. The Shenandoah Beautification Committee does a superior job of planting flowers and decorating the signs during the holidays. Tourists visiting our small town have been known to pose for pictures in front of the welcome sign next to the Shenandoah Library.
Shenandoah hasn’t always had nice welcome signs. For a long, long, time travelers thru our town only knew of our town’s
existence by the placement of the town corporation signs along the roadway.
