Chapter 66- Traffic and vehicles
Sec. 66-20. - Riding bicycle without using handlebars.
No person shall ride a bicycle upon any street without having his hands on the handlebars. (Code 1992, § 11-19)
Sec. 66-4. - Roller skates, bicycles, wagons, skateboards and other devices.
(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to ride, pull or push any roller skate, skateboard, bicycle, wagon or other device on wheels or runners on the town sidewalks.
(b) It shall be unlawful for any person to ride, push or pull any skateboard on the town streets.
Sec. 66-66. - Filling of motor vehicle tank with gasoline while motor is running.
No owner or attendant of a filling station or any other person shall fill any motor vehicle with gasoline or other fuel while the motor is running, and all operators of motor vehicles shall stop their motors while tanks are being filled with gasoline. (Code 1992, § 11-56)
Sec. 66-19. - Use of automobiles for prostitution or illicit intercourse.
It shall be unlawful for any owner or chauffeur of any vehicle, with knowledge or reason to believe the vehicle is to be used for such purpose, to use the vehicle or to allow the vehicle to be used for the purpose of prostitution or unlawful sexual intercourse or to aid or promote such prostitution or unlawful sexual intercourse by the use of such vehicle. (Code 1992, § 11-18)
Sec. 26-31. - Yelling, shouting, hooting, whistling or singing.
No person shall, by yelling, shouting, hooting, whistling or singing on the public streets, particularly between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. or at any other time or place, disturb the quiet, comfort or repose of persons in any office or in any dwelling, hotel or other type of residence or of any person elsewhere in the vicinity. (Code 1992, § 13-6)
Sec. 10-68. - Cat running at large.
It shall be unlawful for any person to allow any cat owned, kept, held or harbored by such person to run at large in the town, other than on the property owned or rented by such person, when such cat has not been currently vaccinated or inoculated against rabies. This shall be a separate offense from section 10-67. (Code 1992, § 3-48)
Sec. 58-15. - Removal of snow.
It shall be unlawful for the occupant of any building and, where there is no occupant, for the owner of such vacant building or any unimproved lot of land lying on any street or public place within the town where there is a paved footway or sidewalk to permit snow to remain along the front or side of such premises longer than 12 hours after the snow has ceased to fall. However, if the snow shall cease to fall in the nighttime, it shall be cleared away by 10:00 a.m. the following morning. Each violation of this section shall be punished by a fine of not less than $1.00 nor more than $5.00. If the occupant or owner of the premises, as the case may be, fails or refuses to clean off the snow in accordance with this section and after reasonable notice, it shall be the duty of the mayor to cause such pavement or sidewalk to be cleaned at the cost of such occupant or owner. Such costs are to be collected in the manner in which state or local taxes are collected.
