Public Service Notice
The United States Post Office will not allow the local Shenandoah Post Office to accept bulk mail (includes Town water bills and Town newsletters) through the local post office located within our Town.
Therefore, the Town is now forced to take bulk mail (water bills and newsletters) to the Elkton Post Office to mail them out.
Town employees paid for and mailed the water bills on Friday, February 14th at the Elkton Post Office.
However, sometime after the mailing, the water bills have been lost. The post office has informed us there is no tracking system on bulk mail and therefore, no one at the post office has been able to tell us where our mailing is at currently or if it will ever show up again.
Town of Shenandoah water customers have not received their water bills yet, due to this postal error.
The water bills are due March 3rd.
If you do not receive your water bill and have questions regarding the amount of your water bill owed, please contact the Shenandoah Town Hall at 540-652-8164.
Bills can be paid without a bill and if you choose to pay in person a receipt can be printed for you.
Failure to pay the bill prior to March 3rd will result in penalty being added to the amount and failure to pay the bill by March 15th will result in the water service being disconnected.
The Town is sorry for this inconvenience, which we believe is solely caused by the United States Postal Service not allowing the local bills to be mailed at the local (in Town) post office any longer.
Again, if you have questions on how much you owe on a water bill in the Town of Shenandoah, please call 540-652-8164.
