From this week’s council meeting, we would like to share with you item number 5.
5) Adopted a Resolution to authorize the purchase of the property located at 200 Virginia Avenue, for the sum of $11,000. This property is a vacant lot located at the intersection of Virginia Avenue and Second Street and provides access to the Post Office loading dock, parking for mail vehicles, and will be available for Town events as well. A majority of the Council felt the purchase of this property would allow for the continued operations of the Post Office, that the purchase was in the interest of the public, and the purchase would advance the Town's public uses and public facilities, including its land use goals for the future.
