We know it’s a little late to be sharing this picture with you, but we just finished putting it together after spending many, many hours working on it. The attached picture shows how the Town of Shenandoah used to decorate for Christmas during 1960’s. They used to string 60 watt colored light bulbs from pole to pole along Virginia Avenue. A police officer had to go up to several utility poles and screw in a fuse in order to get the lights to cut on & off. It certainly was a beautiful sight to see, especially when it snowed! It would be nice if the town would do this again! Years later the town would wrap the lights up and around the telephone poles on the right side of Virginia Avenue. This didn’t last very long and wasn’t as pretty as stringing them across the roadway.
