We just wanted to update everyone on the paving project at the Maryland Avenue/602 tunnel. We received this updated schedule by Juanita Roudabush- Town Manager. Per VDOT, pavement milling and replacing in the tunnel is now scheduled for Wednesday May 29th (mill out) and Thursday May 30th (repave it). The milling equipment was delayed on another project, but is now scheduled for May 29th in Shenandoah at the 602/Maryland Avenue tunnel.

Hey, we just want to share with you some news that we just received from the Shenandoah Town Office regarding paving to start soon on the 602/Maryland Avenue Tunnel.

Rt. 602/Maryland Avenue Tunnel pavement to be repaired:

VDOT hired the contractor to do the pavement work on BOTH sides of the tunnel on Rt. 602/Maryland Avenue.

The work is scheduled to begin April 29th and the contractor expects it won't last more than a few days or so. VDOT will let us know if the schedule changes for any reason.

As I understand it, traffic will still be able to flow on one side of the tunnel while the other is being repaired.

Please be mindful of traffic control in this area and expect delays while this much needed work is being done by VDOT during this time.

Additionally, other VDOT crews are in Town now and will be in Town throughout this spring and summer doing more work on the streets within the Town limits.

Town crews will be doing maintenance to the Town owned streets, as funds allow throughout the spring, summer, and fall as well.

Please be extra cautious while traveling through all work zones.
