Most town property owners don’t realize that the Town of Shenandoah has a sidewalk repair program.
The town will split the repair of the sidewalk 50-50 with the property owner. It’s been in existence for many years going back at least the mid 1990’s.
We recently confirmed this program was alive and well via communication with Shenandoah Assistant Town Manager Charlie Jenkins. Mr. Jenkins said “We prefer 3 estimates to get a good range for the cost of the repair. All repairs have to adhere to VDOT standards.” He went on to say “that most of the sidewalks are VDOT and they are supposed to repair them but they never do.”
