Drive-in theaters in the Shenandoah Valley have long been gone, but it’s not too late to visit a nearby one that is still open. We have found a website (Drive-in Theaters of the Mid-Atlantic past and present) that list the ones that are still open. Like Family Drive-in near Stevens City. It also list the history and some pictures of some of our local drive-ins such as The Page Drive-in Luray, The Blue Ridge & the Cavalier drive-ins Elkton, and the Harrisonburg drive-in and the Roth drive-in & miniature golf course in Harrisonburg. It also included the North Drive-in and the Skyline Drive-in Waynesboro, Ruckersville, Gordonsville and Staunton Drive-ins. Although there are several drive-ins still operational, they are in danger of going out of business due to the mandated switchover to digital projection.

The website also has a map showing locations of drive-ins that are still open.
