Update April 21, 2026:
From Friend of Shenandoah Pump track Facebook page as posted by by Daniel Kiser on April 21, 2026 at about 4:30pm:
Big Update on the Pump Track!
As of last night at the Page County Board of Supervisors meeting we have officially received $66,000 in approved funding for the pump track at Big Gem Park.
This is exactly what we were hoping for, and honestly, it’s still hard to believe this all came together the way it did.
Now the real work begins.
Our next step is putting together a solid plan to move this into the build phase, including:
- Final track design & layout
- Construction planning
- Required signage (rules, safety, liability, etc.)
- Landscaping and site prep to make the space functional and look great
While this funding should cover the core cost of the track, we want to make sure we do this right. That means thinking ahead about any additional costs that could come up and making this a space the whole community can be proud of.
This is where you guys come in:
If you have ideas for fundraising, sponsorships, or community involvement, drop them below or message me directly.
Let’s keep the momentum going and make this something special.
Thank you all for the support, it truly made this happen.

Good morning @everyone
I owe you guys an update. Alongside our Town Manager Charlie and Town Council member Brenda, we presented the pump track idea to the Page County Tourism board this past Wednesday with the hopes of possibly getting some TOT (Tourism) grant funding for the project.
Once again, we were met with overwhelming support for the project !! The Tourism board discussed some funding options and ultimately voted to help fund the pump track !!!!!!
However, this funding MUST go before and be approved by the Page County board of supervisors at their next public hearing which is next month! We will need to go in with as much support as possible. Once I have the exact date for the meeting I will update you here. Please help spread the word by sharing this page, and getting friends to fill out the support form !!

Update: March 31, 2026:

“Long Update......
Evening Everyone! As my post said last night, town council was extremely supportive and actually excited about the pump track project. With their unanimous support things are going to start to develop quickly.
Turner Construction Group will be doing some earth moving in the park next month and after discussions with them and our town manager Charlie, Turner is going to go ahead and make a dirt version of our pump track. This will be phase 1 of our project.
Before we are able to ride phase 1, we will need to have appropriate signage in place. This will require some funding and I am actively looking into ways to raise those funds and get a sign in place ASAP.
Phase 2 of this project will be doing the track in concrete. This is where I will likely be needing help with fundraising and looking for ways to raise money. Council expressed they would like to get to phase 2 as quickly as possible so that is my goal.
At the meeting last night, a member of the Page County Office of Economic Development & Tourism was in attendance and gave me her card and some information after I presented. I have a meeting set with them next week to discuss the project and see if we may qualify for any grants. Fingers crossed that we might qualify!!
I think thats it for now. I will continue to keep you all updated here as everything evolves! Thank you all for the support that has gotten us to this point!
It doesn't look like much now but this will be the home of our very own pump track soon!!!”
We asked Shenandoah Town Manager Charlie Jenkins where the pump track was going to be located at Big Gem Park and he said “It is in the general area to the right of the paved trail when you start it.”

We would like to share with everyone a press release that Shenandoah Newz received from a local resident that details a new initiative by local volunteers to bring a Pump Track to Shenandoah.
Press Release from Friends of Shenandoah Pump Track, Daniel Kiser.
“First, I just want to sincerely thank you for your interest in covering this project and helping bring awareness to it. It means a lot to have local support behind something like this.
I’m currently working to bring a community pump track to Shenandoah, with a proposed location at Big Gem Park.
A pump track is a paved, looped riding course designed for bikes, scooters, and skateboards, where riders generate momentum by “pumping” through rollers and berms rather than pedaling. These tracks are designed for all ages and skill levels—from young kids to experienced riders.
The goal of this project is to:
- Create a safe, family-friendly outdoor activity
- Provide a positive outlet for local youth
- Attract visitors from surrounding areas to support local businesses
- Add a unique recreational feature to our town
Right now, we are in the early stages of building community support. I will be presenting the idea to the Town Council on March 24th, and a big part of that effort is showing strong local interest.
We’ve created:
A Facebook group for updates and discussion: https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1KRoz4MxUa/
A community interest/support form:
https://form.jotform.com/260716739468066
We’re encouraging residents, and even people from surrounding areas who would use the track or even spectate to join the group and submit the form to help demonstrate demand.
This project has already received a lot of positive feedback, and we’re hopeful it can become something really special for Shenandoah.
Thanks again for helping share this with the community. I truly appreciate your support and willingness to highlight this effort, - Daniel Kiser.”
End of press release.
