This week we took a drive thru town to see if we could find anything new to report on. Wow, we found

that there are six new home construction projects going on! One was at the intersection of Maryland Avenue and Fifth Street. This home was being built by Rickel Contracting Inc. We then drove down to Williams Avenue and saw another home under construction at 405 Williams Avenue and was being built by Ronnie Meyerhoffer.  During our travels around town today we also visited the neighborhood behind Auto Dealz where four new homes are being built by Superior Siding and Home Improvements, Inc. James Shifflett at the corner of South Second Street and Pulaski Avenue.

We drove by the Shenandoah Volunteer Fire Station at 201 Pennsylvania Avenue and took a few pictures of the construction of the expansion of the current fire station building. This work is being done by Lams Construction.

We drove by the railroad tunnel on Maryland Avenue and saw where a railroad contractor had installed a retaining wall to keep the debris from falling onto cars as they go through the tunnel.

Our journey concluded at Big Gem park at 736 Fourth Street where we saw the Town Maintenance crew installing new playground equipment next to the picnic shelter.

The towns maintenance department has recently installed wooden benches along the Hiking/Biking trails on the south side of the double track.

As we were leaving the park, we drove by the antique truck display up from Big Gem Park.  It was decorated for Memorial Day- in memory of those we lost. We also observed that two new small bushes have been planted in front of the truck next to the wheels.
