On Sunday August 16, 2015 the Shenandoah Indians traveled to Culpeper to play the Culpeper Cardinals for the Apple Valley League Championship. The Indians jumped out to an early lead due to a few miscues from the Cardinals. Their biggest inning was the 7th when they scored 5 runs. The Indians never trailed in the game. The umpire ended the game at the bottom of the 8th inning due to unsportsman like conduct after a Cardinal player that was called out sliding into third base and had a very nasty verbal altercation with the umpire. Shenandoah won 11-4. It is to be noted that the Indians were the 3rd seed when the regular season ended and won two playoff games and the Championship game on the road. They also played all of their home games at Stonewall Memorial Park in Elkton as they don’t have a field to play on in Shenandoah.

Dereck Merica received the team M.V.P. Award. Dereck ended the regular season going 19 for 39 from the plate & 1 hit away from .500. He also had 3 doubles 4 rbi's 11 walks 9 stolen bases. Dereck only had 5 strike outs in 39 at bats. He is a solid leader in the outfield and on this team as well.
