Pvt. Jacob Smith served with Captain Gabriel Long’s Co. in the 11th Va. Regiment. Jacob also served under General George Washington at the battles of Trenton and Princeton. Pvt. Stephen Conrad Jr. was Captain of Co 15 Rockingham Militia 1781 to 1788. Captain Stephen Conrad Jr. is buried in the East Point Cemetery west of Shenandoah Va. on Rt. 602.

 

 

 

 

Christian Groff/Grove was a private in Michael Readers Company of Virginia militia. The Grove Family Cemetery is located off Rt 340 in the vicinity of Luray Virginia behind the Mt. Carmel Regular Baptist Church and Christian Academy. The cemetery is enclosed by a stone wall. Â Christian is buried in this cemetery beside his son Christian Grove and his wife Mary. Five generations of Groves are buried in this cemetery.
