Pauline Wysong-
O. Pauline Miller Wysong 105, of Shenandoah, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014 at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg.
Pauline was born April 13, 1909 in Page County and was the daughter of the late Milton Amos and Ollie Musselman Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in September of 1943, by her husband, Frank Louis Wysong II, whom she married on March 29, 1929; three children, Julia Stanulis and her husband Carl, Frank Louis Sonny III and Robert Wysong, and a son-in-law, Bill Shaffer.
Mrs. Wysong attended Shenandoah Conservatory of Music at Dayton, VA, and James Madison University and was a member of the Fields United Methodist Church. She worked as a school teacher in Page County for many years.
Surviving family include, one son; William Bill Wysong and wife, Joyce of Elkton; two daughters, Joanne Shaffer of Roanoke and Betty Sue Erickson and husband, John of Charlotte, NC; daughter-in-law, Juanita Wysong of Port Republic; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren.
The Rev. Steven Creech will conduct the funeral service 2pm Friday, August 29, 2014 at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton. Burial will follow at the Coverstone Cemetery in Shenandoah.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8pm at the funeral home in Elkton. Friends may also call at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Joyce Wysong at anytime.
