The Shenandoah High School Alumni Association held its 79th Annual Banquet on Saturday May 5, 2018 at the Shenandoah Elementary School (Formerly the High School). The reception and social hour started at 4:30pm in the school cafeteria. Prior to the start of the Program, Shenandoah High School Class of 1958 held a reception at the Historic Stevens Cottage on Maryland Avenue in Shenandoah.

The banquet started at 5:30pm and was held in the school gymnasium and was catered by Rutz’s Backyard BBQ.

Dr. Kim Painter Blosser, President of Lord Fairfax Community College was the guest speaker.

Honored classes were the class of 1938, 1943, 1948, 1953 and 1958 from Shenandoah High School and 1963 from Page County High School.

A Resolution of Respect for Unis (“Jack”) Rinaca was presented to Billie Ann Rinaca by Alumni Vice President Russel J. Comer, Jr.

The annual scholarship was presented to Page County High School Senior Lauren Lam by Alumni President Vincent (Buddy) Comer.

Charles Grunewald from Charles Grunewald Auctions was on hand and auctioned off several items that will help fund the annual Scholarship for a graduating senior at Page County High School.

In closing all in attendance rose and sang the School Song Hail to Shenandoah Hail

Decorations were accomplished by Joyce Morris, Marjorie Leavell and Wilson Kite.

The Shenandoah High School Alumni Association was formed in 1939 and is the oldest in the State of Virginia, 1939-2018.
