Former Shenandoah Postman Randall Duncan has passed away.
Randall Alvin Duncan, Sr., 79, of Shenandoah, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, March 5, 2015 at his home.
Mr. Duncan was born April 26, 1935 in Page County and was the son of the late John Robert Duncan, Sr. and Freda Lee McAlister Duncan. He was also preceded in death by his brother, John Robert Duncan, Jr.
Randall graduated from Shenandoah High School in 1954. He was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Shenandoah for 35 years and retired in 1997. He was a wonderful family man, and was an antique car enthusiast.
On January 9, 1961 he married, Jeanette Marie Grimsley, who survives. In addition, he is survived by his children, Cheryl Duncan and husband, Aaron Swindle of Dayton, Randall Alvin Duncan, Jr. and wife, Deborah Lynn of Port Republic, and Terri Lynn Nessar and husband, Kevin of Verona; sisters, Betty Moyer of Richmond and Elsa Herring of Elkton; seven grandchildren, Matthew Michael Nessar, Emily Duncan, Adam Duncan, Sarah Duncan, Rachel Duncan, Daniel Nessar, and Kevin Nessar; two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Noah Nessar, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pastors Gary Saler and Carter Dean will conduct a memorial service 2pm Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the Shenandoah Pentecostal Holiness Church, 300 Shenandoah Avenue, Shenandoah, Va.
The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

Mr. Duncan is delivering the mail on Seventh Street in the fall of 1979. I don’t believe he ever wore a coat or jacket in the winter time!
