At the Shenandoah Town Council meeting on Tuesday March 25, 2014, Lena Ringle Kite presented a copy of her book The Ringle homeplace and its connection to Big Gem to Council and for display in the Town Museum. The book details the history of possibly one of the oldest homes left in Town, as it was constructed by Mr. Milnes between 1882 or 1883. Mrs. Kite reported the home served as her father’s homeplace in later years. Residents are encouraged to contact Mrs. Kite for additional copies of the book, which is for sale or stop by Town Hall to look at the copy in the museum.
