Update: We were just notified by the Shenandoah Town Office that the tree lighting ceremony for tonight (December 9th) at Big Gem Park has been cancelled due to the weather. If it is rescheduled, we will let everyone know.
Shenandoah’s Annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony will take place this Saturday, December 9th 6 Pm at Big Gem Park. This year the Shenandoah Elementary School Choir will be there singing Christmas Carols. Attached are photographs when they performed on First Street in 2014 and 2015. Hot Chocolate will be provided by the Shenandoah Indians Baseball Organization. Cookies will be provided by Christ & Fields UMC, and Marshmallow Roasting by the Lion’s Club. The Legend of the Christmas Tree and Tree Lighting by Mayor Clinton Lucas Jr. Oh, did we mention that Santa Claus will be arriving by fire truck!
