Update as of December 27, 2018: This project has been completed.

Bridge Delays in Shenandoah: Update as of October 31,2018:

Drivers can expect delays on the Route 602 Bridge (William Milnes, Jr. Bridge) starting Monday, November 5, 2018, as the crew removes the temporary stoplights and insert flag men at each end of the project, and continue their work to restore the bridge.

The bridge will NOT be closing for the duration of the project, as we previously thought.

The width restriction for the bridge will be 10'.

Please plan accordingly and expect delays between now and the tentative end date of November 30, 2018 (this is subject to change if inclement weather or other issues arise.)

We will continue to do our best to keep everyone up to date on the status of this project.

Sarah Dean, Town Clerk, Town of Shenandoah

Traffic Alert- Shenandoah River Bridge Route 602 (East Point Road) Beginning Monday April 23, 2018, flaggers will control traffic during daylight hours as contractors mobilize equipment and install temporary traffic signals on both sides of the bridge. The signals will control traffic 24/7 beginning in early May 2018. During Construction This maintenance work will require crews to be on the bridge decks during the repairs. Therefore, single-lane closures will be required and the traveling public can expect delays during work hours. Traffic signals on both sides of the bridge will be in operation 24/7, except for rare occasions when flagging crews control traffic. Vehicles using the bridge during this project will be restricted to 10 feet in width. During the later stages of this rehabilitation (September-November 2018), Route 602 will be closed to all traffic (including pedestrians and bicycles) during overnight hours and weekends. A detour route will be posted during these times.
