There is a new train sculpture at the Shenandoah Museum. You don’t have to go inside the museum to see it as it is attached to the front wall of the museum.

The train sculpture was made by Robert and Donovan Drain. It was installed on October 10 & 11, 2024 by Robert along with Shenandoah Public Works and Trustees from the Page County Jail. The sculpture is equipped with a solar powered headlight that illuminates for a few hours at night.

From the Town of Shenandoah Facebook page on October 11, 2024, we saw the following comments from Regina Drain “So happy my husband Robert Drain, and children Donovan Drain & Victoria share my great love of trains! Robert Drain and our children donated their time and talents to make this for our town with the materials that Roberts boss donated to him. My Cousin built the train in the glass case on first street and my uncle built the train inside the museum. My Dad worked for the railroad for many many years. We went to the museum today with my parents. I enjoyed hearing the many stories my Dad has to tell. It takes me back to the days when he worked on the railroad. Please visit the museum if you haven't! It has so much history there!”

More pictures of the installation of the train can be found on The Town of Shenandoah Facebook page by following the below link.
