As I rounded the curve at Shenandoah's Veterans Memorial Fields, the aroma of freshly cooked hot dogs was in the air. As I got a little closer I could hear the coaches giving their players constructive advice. When I approached the bleachers, I heard comments from the crowd shouting to the players to hustle and run faster! I passed by home plate and headed right to the concession stand to satisfy my hunger by purchasing a hot dog and drink. I took my hot dog and drink and sat down on the bleacher along first base line to watch the game. The hot dog tasted every bit as good as it smelled! There is something special about eating a hot dog at a baseball game that you just can't duplicate in your kitchen! The game I happen to be watching was a little league game between the Orioles and Yankees on Field one on Junior Avenue in Shenandoah. I encourage you to go out to Memorial fields and grab a hot dog and take in a game or two. It sure was a lot of fun watching the players and coaches during the game and thought to myself, some of those little guys will grow up and coach little league just like their coaches have done before them. Shenandoah is a baseball & softball community, come out and catch the spirit! You can find the Rec League schedule on their Facebook page.
