The Hazzard Run 2021 took place Saturday October 2, 2021. The starting place was at Cooter’s in Luray and
is located at 4768 US Hwy 211 West, Luray, VA 22835. Vehicle registration was free for each replica vehicle or hot rod participating in the convoy.
Caravan participants gathered at Cooter's Place in Luray at 9am and was ready to go. Shenandoah Town Manager Juanita Roudabush and Shenandoah Town Clerk Lora Jenkins was there to hand out Welcome Packets to those participating. The packets included Town brochures from Shenandoah, Stanley & Luray and included restaurant menus, town information, the Chamber's Page County Destination Guide and Virginia is For Lovers bumper sticker etc.
Shenandoah’s Fire Company 70 Engine 703 escorted the convey that was led by Tom Wopat aka Luke Duke from Cooter’s place in Luray into The Town of Shenandoah. They turned right off Rt 340 on to Virginia Avenue. They made a left turn on First Street and they made another left turn on Maryland Avenue. At the Traffic Light the proceeded to make a left turn on to Rt 340 and Engine 703 escorted the convey to the Town of Stanley where they handed it off the Stanley’s Fire Department. In addition to several General Lee’s, the parade included Cooter’s race car, uncle Jesse's truck and some of Hazzard County's police force vehicles, and someone also brought a truck from the Fall Guy TV series. We also saw a Boss Hog vehicle and the Knight Rider car.
Special guests were Tom Wopat, Chris Hensel who played Jeb Stuart Duke, Tom Sarmento who was the real life mechanic for the show, and Dorothy Best who was married to James Best (Sheriff Roscoe Coltrane).
At 2pm - Ben Cooter Jones and Cooter's Garage Band was to perform back at Cooter's Place in Luray. Tom Wopat was scheduled for Meet & Greets, Signings and Photos on Saturday and Sunday.
On Sunday October 3, 2021 they held a Hazzard Run at the Shenandoah Speedway in Shenandoah Va.
