We walked by the Stevens Cottage this week and saw where a new sidewalk had been installed from
the main sidewalk up to their ramp on the east side of the building. We read that “donations from the Shenandoah Moose Lodge #2176, the Stevens Cottage has a new sidewalk to their ramp!” The Town of Shenandoah supplied gravel for the sidewalk base and debris removal. The town of Shenandoah also mows and trims the grass around the cottage and not long ago hauled away brush that had been cut down around the caboose.
The town of Shenandoah makes a $1,000 donation to the Heritage Center each year, and makes a another $5,000 donation for the parade each year.
Please follow link below to view a video taking you on a tour of the Stevens Cottage. Includes pictures of down stairs, upstairs and inside the caboose. Music for this video was specially written and composed by Shenandoah’s own John and Brenda Borus.
